WHO WE ARE
A LOCAL GRASSROOTS INITIATIVE.
During the 1970s, Reservoir Hill experienced a number of shifts in housing and resident issues.
Out of this recognized need and understanding the additional representation, advocacy, and programs needed to enhance Reservoir Hill for the needs of all its residents , RHIC was formed.
PARTICIPATION MEANS
A LOT TO US.
We center our community-based programs around those who live and work in Reservoir Hill.
Our holistic approach to place, history, and revitalization is the method that helps us realize our vision of Reservoir Hill as a model urban neighborhood. We are always open to ideas and volunteers.
MISSION
Founded in 1982, RHIC unites, empowers, and mobilizes residents and organizations to define and take action on issues common to the Reservoir Hill Community and its Baltimore neighbors.
OUR VALUES
RHIC is a resident-led, nonprofit community development corporation providing programs, resources, and housing counseling services in Reservoir Hill and Baltimore with particular focus on supporting those who may be vulnerable or historically marginalized.
RHIC is committed to representing, hearing, and incorporating the perspectives, needs, and ideas of its diverse resident population.
Through multiple partnerships and collaboration, RHIC aims to ensure equitable, accessible, and non-discriminatory housing and development. We have lowered vacant housing blight, and brainstormed and advocated for fair development. RHIC also provides HUD-Certified Housing Counseling Services and Education
We are proud of Reservoir Hill's history of resident and volunteer community service. Volunteer participation and resident outreach is central to our work. Community input is at the forefront of all we do. For forty years RHIC has demonstrated its commitment to the Reservoir Hill community in programs and projects to improve the quality of life for all residents.
